It's the tradition of the Achuar people, from Ecuador, to take time to feel our connection to the planet and to each other. This is a small ritual event to begin our training.

(JSV. Here in New Zealand our Maori people begin meetings by reflection on who their ancestors are and were their tradition comes from and why they are here today. My own Christian forebears would use a prayer in the same way.)

[Mark begins a quiet time.]

He begins by asking us to breath deeply. Then to feel our limbs and how we are sitting. To feel the air and room and to be aware of the weather outside. Be still. Be aware of each other.
Be committed to the highest purposes you can imagine. That's why we are here today.

Four Years.Go. Is a global commitment campaign.
We will use the next four years to wake up the world.

That awakening will be a tipping point that will allow the world to make progress on critical issues that are facing the world today. All of us know at some level that the present direction of world events is taking us towards other tipping points that nobody wants to reach.

Unless we can rebuild and sustain the natural environment we are lost.
Unless we can make a world where justice is each person's birthright we are lost.
A fulfilling life on earth is possible but only if we can engage the collective will to make that happen.

Four Years.Go. Is not a some day commitment.
There is urgency.
Commitment is needed now.

The Next Four Years is a critical time: Let us look at the Four Years.Go. Pledge.
We promise four things.
1. The share the knowledge of this Pledge with other people.
2. To practice in our daily life new habits and behaviors that will help.
3. To educate ourselves about the problems we face and the many solutions possible.
4. To engage in some personally chosen objective that's important to you so that you can make a difference in Four Years.

Your commitment to this pledge will enable you to be the author of the kind of world you want to be part of. As Gandhi said; "Be the change you want to see in the world."

It's time for action.
We have Four Years.
We can make change in Four Years.
The choices you make now will change your life.
The choices your community makes will change the community, your school and your workplace.

The choices we make across the world will change the future and influence the next 1000 years.

Lynne then went through the 4 parts of the Pledge again.

The next Four Years to change the direction.
The Pledge gives you access to your own greatness.
Pledge yourself to do great work.
Pledge yourself to act out of love, not fear for the future.

We want a THRIVING
JUST
SUSTAINABLE
Way of life for everyone.

Reach out to other people.
Talk to each other about the things you hope for.
Talk even to those people who are afraid of your message.
Why are they frightened?
Are they resigned, powerless, hopeless, trapped?
This campaign is about what's really important.

STAND UP — BE COUNTED

The world faces a crisis.

We need to create a positive tipping point out of our love for nature.
Out of our love for other people.
Out of our love and appreciation for the wonderful life we are privileged to live.

Four Years.Go. Has two strong strands.

The environment And Social Justice.

The first step is to shift yourself.
Make a Pledge that makes a difference.

Use the next Four Years to change yourself.

Build a large network of people you've spoken to about Four Years.Go.
Personally engage in new actions that help our objective.
Become knowledgeable about the issues so you can be a source of knowledge to other people.
Select a personal goal that's important to you that will really make a difference where you live.
Work hard to make that goal an achievement of yours.

There's also the long term time frame. The next 1000 years.

Not just your own grandchildren The future of the planet Earth.

This is a new renaissance.

Four Years to shift the whole of humanity to a new direction which make the next 1000 years possible.

Four Years.Go. is a commitment campaign for all mankind.
Four Years.Go. is an incentive to meet new people.
Four Years.Go. encourages us to engage in an important conversation.
Four Years.Go. is an incentive to do necessary new things.
Four Years.Go. is a gift to other businesses and organizations that have allied objectives.
Four Years.Go. can empower whatever objectives you think are important.

This is your opportunity to make a real difference in your own life.
The Pledge makes a difference for you if you think it really matters.
The Pledge can be your reason to do new and different things.
Your reason for speaking to lots of new people.
Your reason for setting an example for other people to follow.
Your reason for becoming inspirational in what you do.
Your reason for being visible.
Your reason for becoming the person you now need to BE.

Each time you tell somebody about Four Years.Go.. The mission grows inside you and helps to change the meaning of your life. Become the change you want to see in the world.
