Open Future NZ Academici

Academici was proving to be very popular with university staff and PhD. students around the world. Academici is a good idea, but it's struggled for existence. The current version is the third attempt to build the network. It can be very exciting to be part of a newly developing network, but it might also take some patience and some work to make it a success.

Academici uses the Sossoon platform, and is currently available in Dutch and English, but there are many German members. It's a very small platform with only 20,000 members in November 2007. (I think there were 200,000 on the original platform before the troubles began.)

The idea was to attract in particular people who work in academic life, but is not exclusive to those who work in research, universities, or colleges.

Dear member,
Another move - to look out and develop the best environment possible for Academici. We are a special group of special people, and I am happy that we are able to use this specific networking environment which allows what knowledge workers need. But look around yourself, and develop together with us, what you expect from such a networking facility,
Yours Markus Vinzent
