Hello Everyone,
Kiwi Scrum has 1796 members.
LinkedIn is making a big effort to integrate more smoothly with Twitter.
There is a Tweets application you can install. You can search for people using their Twitter name.
I've been even more impressed recently with the power of LinkedIn's search functions. It's always been good in my view, but there are so many ways you can control a search now, and as you adjust those controls the search updates automatically without having to "search" again.
I'm not a developer, but the developer forums are very active.
What have I learned online in the last month? That's what this section is about. Because of my work with
Four Years. Go. which is also known as
4YGo, I've been privy to some very high powered organising, and able to meet some top people.
This is the third month in which I've talked about 4YGo, and the number of New Zealanders involved is still close to zero. So much for the power of this newsletter and my writing skills. The entire Internet is filled with opportunities, and in self defense most people are turned off. They are avoiding stuff, not taking on more.
I want to point you to four people who have impressed me in the last week. First,
Clinton Callahan in Munich, Germany. Clinton is making a big impression inside 4YG, but running workshops in Germany that are likely to be produced around the world. One of his themes, is "Expand Your Box" which is a concept I entirely agree with, abolishing the nonsensical idea of "thinking outside the box". Callahan also promotes the concept of "Possibility Management" based on understanding and controlling your mental maps. You can find him at the
Callahan Academy.
Who have you invited to Join Kiwi Scrum in the last month? That seems such a small thing to do, but most of the people who are members of LinkedIn, almost all of your NZ connections are in ZERO LinkedIn Groups or in only a few groups. Maybe yourself too. You can join up to 50 groups. You should do that. You should also join different types of groups. Diversity is important.
Are you offering yourself as a volunteer? I've just accepted the task of leading the
Global Spread Team of 4YGo. I'm now the participation coach for 14 Street Groups, and the administrator of another one. The work in Street Groups June become a business, but that wasn't obvious when I began. There are dozens of business opportunities in 4YGo too, all of them hidden in the beginning. I'm working along-side some of the best individuals in the world.
I'm impressed by the volunteering of
John Renesch, who I've known for some years because of his work
promoting forward thinking about future issues. John volunteered last year to go online every week and talk personally to new people joining 4YGo in a conference call. You can participate.
Here are the call times in English.
A third person of note is
Susanne Trinner, Initiator and International Director of "
Together to One" with the ideal of bringing humanity to a common understanding. 'From humanity to unity"is one of her phrases. Susanne is based in Switzerland but is currently in Palestine.
Can I also introduce you to
Morel Fourman. Morel says that we can change history, but we have to find "acupuncture points" (I would say pivot points) the places where clarity of vision and purpose, and the effort of a few committed and informed individuals will make a difference. In the short conversation we had, Morel pointed to pension fund managers as people with enormous influence in the world.
Morel is CEO of Gaiasoft, which develops and implements collaborative management systems for multinationals, large projects and governments.
More interesting news next month,
John Stephen Veitch
The Network Ambassador
