I'll keep this short. I intend to write here just once a month.
Have you read your "About Me" page?
Far too many members have never completed that page. Learning to talk about yourself is a basic skill that we all need to learn. Don't try to write the PERFECT page. That can't be done. Write something you like today. Revise that occasionally.
On Xing there are many groups you can join. Interest groups will feed you information that is likely to meet your needs. That's helpful because it builds your knowledge and understanding.
Explore the "groups" tag on Xing.
What you DO because you want to do it, because you volunteer, defines who you are and who you are becoming. So when you choose to read what others write, that's one way to volunteer. But when you WRITE a reply, even a very short one, that's a much greater level of engagement.
The more you volunteer online the more you will learn. If reading has a learning score of "3", sharing someone else's thoughts on the topic is "5", and writing your own ideas on the topic is "8". Getting the most out of the networks you join is about having the courage to contribute.
One way you can engage now, is to invite someone you know to join Xing.
If that person has a NZ Connection, they should also join us here.
Best wishes to you all,
John
